YILDIRIM GROUP Signs Two MoU’s with Chinese Giants

ISTANBUL, TURKEY, February 22, 2012 — Two of the YILDIRIM GROUP companies, Eti Krom and YILDIRIM Energy signed two important MoU’s (memorandum of understanding) for long term cooperation with the two Chinese industrial giants in their respective fields, namely, Sinosteel, and CMEC, respectively. The venue was the Turkish-Chinese Economic and Commercial Cooperation Forum, held in the historic Hilton Hotel, Istanbul. Alp Malazgirt, Ph.D., YILDIRIM GROUP CEO, signed for Eti Krom and Tamer Turna, Ph.D., YILDIRIM Energy CEO signed on behalf of the energy division.

The highlight of the forum was the attendance and the speech by the next “almost certain” Chinese president, Xi Jinping, currently the Vice President of China. He was on his back from a trip to the USA, and then to Ireland and stopped by to attend this important cooperative forum, which was also attended by high level Turkish ministers, Ali Babacan and Zafer Caglayan. In his speech, Jinping emphasised the importance of the strategic cooperation between the two rising powers, calling for enhanced cultural exchanges and more contact between the peoples of the two countries.

Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan also touched on the significance of improved communication and economic cooperation between these two countries located on the opposite edges of Asia and stated that increased economic trade between Turkey and China will contribute vastly to the current Turkish government’s goal to become one of the top 10 economic powers by 2023, Turkey’s 100th anniversary of the Republic.

Along these lines, YILDIRIM GROUP is proud to have signed these MoU’s with respectable partners from China and will strive to enhance the cooperation with their Chinese colleagues and counterparts for years to come.
